In 1906 the first animated film called as the “humorous phases of the funny faces” by J. Stuart Blackton  the technique he used is to write the comical faces on the black board and film, he would stop the film erase the board and film the newly drawn face.

In 1914 Winsor McCay made his animation film called as “Gertie, the trained dinosaur”. It used 10000 drawings, It was shown as a film in the theaters and also as a multi media event on stage with McCay interacting with the animated Gertie.

The most popular animated series of the 1920’s and was also a commercial success of that period and revolutionized the animation industry.

Disney's Era

Walt Disney’s first successful animation “Steamboat Willy” made Mickey the star. Other creations are Alladin,101 Dalmatians, The Lion King, Donald Duck that made Disney a big hit.

Tom and Jerry

MGM’s Tom and Jerry became iconic characters of television animation series.

Warner brothers are one of the biggest producers of television series and animated movies, Bugs bunny, roadrunner, Tweety, Batman, Cinderella and other fairy tale stories are some of the famous series.

Present Industry

Animation has evolved into very big industry, animation studios like Pixar animation studios, Dreamworks and many more studios have created high end 3D movies like Toy story.. etc. Animation studios have also developed realistic looking humans some of the movies are Final Fantasy, The Spirits Within, The Polar Express 3D, Beowulf 3D and so on.
